A collection of 20 AVS presets created by the VISBOT artists which we selected for the Bangkok's Queer Techno nights, recorded in HD and edited into perfectly looping vj loops.

If you haven't used AVS before you should know that when you can it is always better to use it for live performances as it adds the real-time reaction to the music and rhythm which loops can never replace, but the loops can open these beautiful graphics for anyone without the computer power to smoothly render them live. On VISBOT's site you can also download hundreds of other eye-watering presets and you even can remix any of them till you drop!

The music for the preview video is from Les Ziris - 2008 Fainst DJ SET Minimal Techno and the tracks are: 12 - Justice - D.A.N.C.E. (mstrkrft rmx); 13 - Dusty Kid - The Kitten; 14 - Anthony rother - Don't Worry (Xenia beliayeva).

Here is how:

If you share loops with us and the internet we'll give you free download of loops you like. Here are the rules:

- For every clip you send us we'll give you 4 clips from this site, any you choose.

- You have to be the owner of the clips you share, you can't give your friend's clips without asking them first.

- A clip can be submitted only once, minor remixes of it also don't apply.

- It should be of the same quality and resolution - 1920x1080 loop if you want HD loops, 800x600 or PAL or NTSC loops if you want SD 800x600 loops to download. 2 SD loops equal 1 HD loop too. The compression shouldn't be less than 5mbps as well.

- The loops should be loopable - if we play them to a random bypasser they shouldn't be able to guess where the end is.

- We should be allowed to distribute these loops on this site and with the site's license. You remain the copyright owner of the clips and don't loose any of your rights. We'll distribute them with your name and link to you. If you upload them to another site and share them under the public domain license that's also fine.

- The content/subject/style can be anything that is legal and will not disturb or kill the fun at a party. Please no guns, hurting or propaganda.

- We'll shut our eyes for some of these rules if your clips opens them wider than usual 8^) if you are not sure - send us a preview!

- Sharing visual-generating software, full VJ mixes or other eye-pleasing stuff can be also good - send us a preview!

- If you have no clips to share but want to use loops from here for not-for-profit video or other cause - email us with info for your project!

OK, so just send us link where we can download the clips. We'll watch them and email you back with the download code!

Vimeo or Youtube are good only for previews as the videos there is too heavily compressed. You still can use them to send us a preview!

License Agreement

ALL CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THIS SITE IS SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH BELOW. READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY.

License Rights Granted. The party who purchases license rights to the Content is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, royalty-free license to: publicly perform, publicly display, digitally perform said content or use the content in accordance to and as defined by the terms in the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike 3.0 license. The purchaser of Content may not dispose of the Content through merger, bankruptcy, or forced sale. All license rights terminate immediately and without notice if a sale is reversed for any reason. All license rights terminate immediately and without notice upon dissolution of the purchaser of those rights.

Resale. The resale or distribute multiple copies of any content obtained from thewetcarpet.com as individual works is expressly prohibited.

Returned Content. In the event any content is returned all license rights granted herein terminate and the User must immediately destroy any and all copies contained on any type of media under the control or possession of the User.

Returns / Refunds. Refunds are given at the discression of thewetcarpet.com. As electronic goods are non-tangible and irrevocable refunds are not normally issued, although we will deal them on a case by case basis. All refund requests must be made no later than 5 days after purchase, and will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Choice of Law and Venue. This Agreement is entered into in the United Kingdom and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, exclusive of its choice of law rules. Each party to this Agreement submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts sitting in the United Kingdom, and waives any jurisdictional, venue, or inconvenient forum objections to such courts. In any action to enforce the Agreement, the prevailing party will be entitled to costs and attorney fees. In the event that any of this Agreement is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, those provisions shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so the Agreement shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

Notices. All notices will be given via electronic mail sent to the email address you provide to thewetcarpet.com during the registration process. Notice shall be deemed given 24 hours after email is sent, unless the sending party is notified that the email address is invalid. Alternatively, thewetcarpet.com may give you notice by certified mail, postage prepaid and return receipt requested, to the address provided to thewetcarpet.com during the registration process. In such case, notice shall be deemed given 3 days after the date of mailing. Any notice to thewetcarpet.com, required by this Agreement or given in connection with it, shall be in writing and sent via fax to 08704715449.

Legal Compliance. You shall comply with all applicable domestic and international laws, statutes, ordinances and regulations regarding your use of the Site.

Entire Agreement. This Agreement, the referenced Terms of Use, and the thewetcarpet.com Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between thewetcarpet.com and you pertaining to the subject matter of this Agreement. In its sole discretion, thewetcarpet.com may modify this Agreement at any time by posting the revised version on this Site.

No Unlawful or Prohibited Purpose. As a condition of purchasing, using, and downloading Content, you warrant to thewetcarpet.com that you will not use the Content for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited.

Tono from demobaza.com has created these VJ loops from her artwork back in the days, and some of them are our all time favourites we love mixing in at the darkest moments of the night. Now we've gathered them and remixed few more to produce this 20 loops VJ album.

This video is a sequence of all the loops just for preview only. The preview music is from James Holden's mix at Sonne Mond Sterne.

We came upon Ana Gomez's Winter Bugs made from tree sticks and we loved them. They inspired us to animate them in 20 calm spaced VJ clips. Ten black and white and ten in strong colours.

Most of the clips are perfect loops and all are good for keying and overlaying. In the preview video all VJ clips are queued together, 24 minutes in total watch in full screen with HD turned on as beauty is in the details.

Ryosuke Tei has created this unusually styled Shinobi manga short that is great for VJing. And so we've turned it into 20 loops, all quite rhythmic and perfect for keying.

We love patterns so we've compiled these moving pattern clips from remixing some old loops with Resolume. They all are perfect loops with blinking-from-black and fast motion so they are be good both for keying them on top for some rhythm or using them as wallpaper patterns of other keyed visuals.

These spooky and trippy but yet silly clips are from the cultish online Salad Fingers cartoon. Good for overlaying (keying) as they have good few flat colours. Some throw caption texts on the screen as the guy's speaking random weird stuff.

The loops:
Each of our albums is made of 20 loops with a similar style or theme. We select and edit them to look good when mixed with other loops - they have clear visual subject, have good amount of one colour (usually the darkest or the brightest) to easily luma-key them, they have bright colours and high-contrast objects so they make sense even when screened in bad conditions - smoke, spotlights on the screen, bad projector... you know.

All loops are made to be looped too! On few of them the last frame won't match the first but these are still visually seamless as these loops usually has many cuts inside. there are one or two long ones that are best played as ping-pong (backwards than forwards and so on).

Video codec:
We encode the loops with PicVideo from Pegasusimaging with 4:2:2 subsampling and quality 16. This is the best setting we know for very fast playback with little load of the computer. While it makes biggish files in size it also preserves the quality of the image so it's good for editing and resampling!

License:
All clips used to be licensed under the CC BY-NC-SA but this license is not very clear when it comes to VJing. So we extended it with our License agreement. Here is a non-definitive guide what you can do with the loops:

- You can perform them live commercially or not, at any venue or over the internet or on TV. Anyone who is part of a project where you use them can perform them too while you are part of the project.

- You can record your work and give free copies of it or put it on video sharing websites. You can't sell these recordings without our permission.

- You can use use the loops or in any not-for-profit work and distribute it as you like. You can give them to anyone who uses them in this way.

- You can't distribute or sell the loops in any way without the agreement of their creator (which you can obtain directly or through us).
